It was 1926 when Vito Galantino bought a grain mill dating back to the 19th century and converted it into an oil mill. From that moment on, the Galantino family have carried on the milling business, producing quality oil from generation to generation. Until 1960, the Galantino family took care of the oil production, buying the olives from selected companies in the area. In that year, the family decided to buy the "La Fenice" estate, consisting of an olive grove of 47 hectares, from which it now produces the best oil. With the passing of the years, the Galantino family was able to evolve the company more and more, even bottling the oil under its own brand, winning several awards and obtaining various certifications such as the extra virgin olive oil from Organic Farming and the Protected Designation of Origin Terre di Bari-Castel del Monte.
What makes Frantoio Galantino stand out from the many oil mills in the area is certainly the wide range of quality products it offers. From classic extra virgin olive oil, divided into light, medium and intense fruity, to certified organic and PDO Terre di Bari oils. The high quality lines, such as Affiorato and Gran Cru, are produced with olives exclusively hand-picked from impeccably-tended olive trees. Among the special products for which Frantoio Galantino stands out, are the spicy and citrus flavored products, such as lemon-flavored oil, which are produced by pressing the olives and fruit or herbs together, without adding any artificial flavoring.
