Made by Olearia San Giorgio, the first Italian Extra Virgin Olive Oil Slow Food Presidium, Olearia San Giorgio L’Ottobratico extra virgin olive oil was born between the towns of San Giorgio Morgeto and Cittanova. The name of the monovarietal oil comes from the month of optimal maturation of the variety from which it derives (the Ottobratica), which falls in October. This is a variety from the province of Reggio Calabria, widespread near the Aspromonte National Park. Ottobratico is an exciting oil, with a delicate fruitiness, which takes us into the meadows of the National Park thanks to its scent of field grass and delicate ripe fruit.
Tasting Notes
Olearia San Giorgio’s L’Ottobratico is limpid, with an intense golden yellow color and greenish reflections. The nose is elegant and complex, with nuances of unripe tomato, banana and ripe white apple, alongside balsamic hints of mint, basil and sage. The mouthfeel is enveloping and vegetable, with ample tones of field lettuce. Bitterness and pungency are present and harmonious, with a prominent sweetness.
