Agraria Riva del Garda

The Agraria Riva del Garda Agricultural Cooperative passionately carries on with work that began in 1965. It was in that year that the wine cellar was joined by the oil mill, and it has been producing extra virgin olive oil of excellent quality since then. Respect for tradition, passion and care for the territory are the principles that guide the activities of small local producers.

There are about 80 members that produce the olives processed in the mill, mostly families who devote their days to the constant and silent care of their estates located in various parts of the area. Annual production varies between 6,000 and 8,500 tons of olives, harvested with traditional systems from over 85,000 trees. What makes the extra-virgin olive oil coming out of the Agraria Riva del Garda oil mill filters unique, is the particular climate that this corner of Trentino enjoys. The presence of the lake moderates the temperatures, creating very special climatic conditions, which allow the cultivation of olive trees at a latitude otherwise inaccessible to these plants. Those cultivated by members of the cooperative are to all intents and purposes the most northerly olive trees in Europe.

Around here, oil is an expression of the territory, it tells its values and history and is produced with systems true to tradition. For instance, one of the oils takes its name from the 46th parallel line that crosses the area, and is obtained from an indigenous cultivar, the Casaliva variety. In the case of the Imperial line, the name, label and production techniques are inspired by the Habsburg world and encapsulate over 2,000 years of history. The Uliva and Mosto d'Olio lines are two other excellent products: the first is the result of manual olive selection, processed within a few hours of harvesting, while the second is an unfiltered extra virgin olive oil, available only between mid November and January, and intended for immediate consumption.
