Accademia Olearia

Accademia Olearia is the union between olive growing and the Fois family, which has provided Sardinian oil lovers with a unique and unmistakable extra virgin olive oil for four generations. Accademia Olearia is a beautiful reality based in Alghero, where its olives enjoy ideal climatic conditions, from sunshine to mild temperatures, all year long. There are about 25,000 plants planted along the 200 hectares of land, with an annual production of up to 110,000 kilograms. The experience accumulated by the company, Accademia Olearia, and the Fois family, is reflected in the scrupulous cultivar selection. This experience, combined with working methods supported by the use of a modern oil mill, and constant controls of the production phases, leads to a prestigious fruity extra virgin oil.

If the olives are harvested from mid-October to the end of December directly from the tree using mechanical equipment, a continuous cycle plant will process the fruit within 12 hours. The temperatures maintained constantly below 27 degrees ensure a fresh and intense fruitiness;

The typical Sardinian Bosana Cultivar is the main variety and is characterized by a particular aroma and strong taste, to satisfy even the most demanding food experts. Accademia Olearia’s oil is fresh, with a bitter-spicy hint, and delicate on the palate; the artichoke and thistle notes make it even more interesting.

Accademia Olearia’s extra virgin olive oil has been sold on all major foreign markets, including Japan and the United States.

Over time, the Fois family, has made enormous efforts not only in producing high quality oil, but also in trying to safeguard the surrounding environment, to prove its unconditional love for its territory. Hence the idea of resorting to alternative energy sources, and of using a modern plant and a photovoltaic system.
