Our history

Acetaia San Giacomo and its barrels are housed in the stunning Corte Faragosa, an estate in the Emilia countryside founded in the mid-1500s; a place filled with history and strongly rooted to its territory.

The name of this precious reality comes from Via San Giacomo Maggiore, in Cogneto di Campagnola Emilia, the address where the small farm that originally produced Lambrusco out of passion was located. For generations, balsamic vinegar was made in the granary for family-use only. Over the years, thanks to the allure of this unique product, they started increasing the sets, and, at the end of the 1990s, they realized that the production had become big enough to sell it, outside the family.

They started the first shipments, with packing boxes recovered from the town's market, and then Andrea, after a Law degree, driven by the love and passion for this complex and traditional product, decided to invest in it as his unique business.

Acetaia San Giacomo is nothing like the other vinegar factories; their mission is making an absolutely excellent product, through tradition, care and in-depth study, every step of its production.
