Depalo

The Depalo family’s history started with Grandpa Savino, who decided to cultivate his passion for olives, and laid the first stone of the company in Giovinazzo, province of Bari. Grandpa Savino managed to pass on his love for agriculture and for his land to his son Luigi, who, after his father’s death in 1984, inherited a one-hectare plot with 150 olive trees, when he was just 17 years old. Luigi responsibly invested in his work, by expanding his company, year after year, putting his father’s advice on how to “listen to Nature” into practice. Today, after many sacrifices and a lot of experience, he has over 10 thousand trees, in a 40 ha plot. In 2016, Luigi’s son, Savino - named after his grandfather - joined the company after graduating, in a three-generation sequence. It is also thanks to him that the Depalo family-run company continues to evolve, keeping up with its traditions, and, first and foremost, with the desire of producing a top quality extra virgin olive oil. Passion for their land follows them throughout all the oil processing phases, from tending to the olive grove during the year, to harvesting and pressing the olives, while respecting the environment. This love for their land also prompted the choice of cultivating local varieties, such as Coratina and Ogliarola Barese. The Depalo company range includes few yet truly authentic products, where you can taste the scents and flavours this land has to offer.
