Lake Garda, with its special microclimate, gives life to extra virgin olive oils with unique characteristics: indeed, here is where the "Imperiale" is produced: the oil that most complies with the Garda unique character, the area with the northernmost olive growing tradition in the world. Olive cultivation has been handed down from generation to generation for more than 2,000 years. Agraria Riva del Garda is the promoter of the production regulations for the Garda Trentino Protected Designation of Origin Extra Virgin Olive Oil, recognized by the EC in 1998. From then until 2006, it was the only Company to produce PDO Garda Trentino extra virgin olive oil, and still produces most of it. PDO Garda Trentino Imperiale is a blend created by pressing three olive varieties - Casaliva, Frantoio and Leccino. An extra virgin olive oil whose graphic design has always paid homage to the history of Alto Garda Trentino and the ties with the Austrian Imperial Court that dominated these lands until one hundred years ago.
