Description

Giorgio Franci, appointed a Hero of Made in Italy by Gambero Rosso, is an internationally recognized protagonist of the Italian food culture. Frantoio Maremmano is father to many excellent oils, including Franci Le Trebbiane extra virgin olive oil. This oil takes its name from the olive grove on the hill of Montenero d'Orcia: a product that embodies the Tuscan spirit, interpreting it in an elegant and complex way. This product, rich in spicy scents, owes its character to the olives from which it is extracted and blended: starting from the Frantoio monocultivar, with typical aromas of leafy artichoke, and the spicy and bitter Leccino variety, up to the particular fruitiness given by the Moraiolo and Olivastra olives. An oil with a texture impossible to describe in words, if not only through its intense aroma and taste.

Tasting Notes

Frantoio Franci Le Trebbiane is limpid, with an intense golden yellow color with slight green nuances. The nose is ample and full of character, imbued with vegetable notes of artichoke and wild chicory, complemented by spicy scents of almond and black pepper. The mouthfeel is enveloping and complex, with a hint of lettuce and strong balsamic tones of mint, rosemary and sage. Very pronounced bitterness and well expressed spiciness.

Excellent for spelt appetizers, spelt salads, sea bream marinades, grilled potatoes, barley soups, first courses with shellfish, fried meats, prawns in guazzetto, baked poultry or lamb, fresh spun curd cheeses.
