Quinta Luna extra virgin olive oil by Frantoio Gaudenzi, is made in the heart of the Umbrian PDO area, near Trevi: a 100% Italian extra virgin oil from olives harvested and processed in the 5 moons (i.e. five months) after flowering, the period from which it takes its name. Quinta Luna is a product that harmoniously combines the characteristics of three different cultivars: Moraiolo, Frantoio and Leccino. What fascinates us about this oil, is its exceptional herbaceous aromatic charge, deriving from its particular processing. The Gaudenzi family has been celebrating the “Quinta Luna day" - a party dedicated to this outstanding product of the oil mill - for quite some time now, to share the passion put into every single bottle of Quinta Luna oil.
Tasting Notes
Frantoio Gaudenzi Quinta Luna olive oil is limpid, with an intense golden yellow color and delicate green shades. The nose is full and complex, rich in notes of artichoke and wild thistle, flanked by hints of black pepper and almond. The mouthfeel is fine and enveloping, with tones of chicory and lettuce, and aromatic nuances of mint, rosemary and sage. Very pronounced bitterness and strong spiciness.
