The Frantoio Batta was founded in 1923 on the San Girolamo road, in Perugia. In this corner of Umbria, Giovanni Batta, grandfather of the current owner, created this small family business, which has been focused on olive growing ever since. The oil currently produced by Giovanni and his wife Giuliana, is one of the best known and appreciated in the region: the Umbria extra virgin olive oil is a PDO product that fascinates us for its herbaceous attributes and balsamic scents, emerging from the blend of different local cultivars, which release the mountainous character of this land.
Frantoio Batta Umbria extra virgin olive oil. Limpid, intense golden yellow with greenish nuances; on the nose it is ample and enveloping, rich in notes of artichoke and chicory, and elegant balsamic hints of mint, rosemary and sage. The mouthfeel is fine and complex, with tones of lettuce and spicy hints of black pepper and almond. Marked bitterness and strong spiciness.
