Marfuga PDO Umbria Riserva extra virgin olive oil comes from olive groves cultivated in the municipalities of Campello sul Clitunno, Spoleto and Trevi at an altitude between 300 and 600 meters above sea level. The cold continental climate that is found on these hills makes it difficult for the oil fly to attack, and together with the characteristics of the soil, give the cultivation of fruits for the production of an extra virgin of the highest quality that make it fall within the PDO (Protected Designation of Origin). Marfuga PDO Umbria Riserva extra virgin olive oil stands out, because it is produced from selected Moraiolo and Frantoio olives harvested exclusively by hand.
Tasting Notes
The particularity of this oil is that olives are processed in the family mill, slightly in advance of the right degree of ripeness. This particularity gives the PDO Umbria Riserva extra virgin olive oil a more intense green color and a fresh herbaceous scent. The taste is ample, with a balanced bitter and spicy note and a great complexity of vegetable hints, with scents of green almond on the finish.
