Description

The 46th parallel marks the northernmost position in the world for olive cultivation. Here, olive trees grow in a particular combination of Alpine and Mediterranean microclimates, allowing the production of valuable extra virgin olive oils with unique characteristics. Casaliva 46° Parallelo extra virgin olive oil by Agraria Riva del Garda takes its name from this Mediterranean oasis in the heart of the Alps. An oil that excites us for the unique temperament of the Casaliva cultivar from which it is extracted: a common cultivar in the area, enhanced by the particular environmental conditions, which gives life to an elegant, harmonious product, with clear fresh herbaceous sensations that take us to both the Alps and the Sea.

Tasting Notes

On sight, 46° Parallelo oil is limpid, with a beautifully intense golden yellow color and greenish tones; to the nose, it is ample and enveloping, with hints of artichoke, chicory and balsamic herbs, and mint and basil nuances. The mouthfeel is complex and fine, with tones of lettuce, rosemary and a distinct finish of black pepper and almond. Bitterness and spiciness are well expressed.
