Several extra virgin olive oils are produced, with names inspired by Greek mythology and culture, in Torretta, a hamlet of Battipaglia where the oil mill of the same name is located. Among these, Torretta Dafne extra virgin olive oil represents a product of high quality, thanks to its harmonious taste, with notes of apple, apricot and green tomato. What we like about this oil, is its elegant and graceful bearing, like the name of the nymph from which it derives: a product that unleashes the palate and makes it gasp, in search of another sweet drop, like the steps of the divine Apollo in his tribulation of love for this maiden.
Tasting Notes
Torretta's Dafne oil has a beautiful limpid golden yellow color. The nose is harmonious and very fine, characterized by ample hints of unripe tomato, celery, lettuce and balsamic herbs with basil, mint and parsley in evidence. The mouthfeel is complex, with vegetable tones of mown grass, artichoke and sweet almond notes on the finish. Bitterness and spiciness are moderate and well dosed.
