The Ranchino family oil mill produces quality oil in the heart of Umbria, between Porano and Orvieto: the company, with its olive groves located 450 meters above sea level, creates an oil obtained from volcanic soil. From this peculiarity comes the extra virgin olive oil Umbria Poggio Amante di Ranchino: a product that overwhelms us with its persuasive notes, round and harmonious as the lovers who, according to the ancient legend of the place, exchanged tender effusions at Poggio dell'Amante, near Porano. What fascinates us is the harmony with which this blend releases the peculiarities of each olive of origin, just like the story between two lovers: a sweet, spicy but harmonious oil in every part.
Tasting notes
“Femmine” extra virgin olive oil owes its name to the dedication of Eugenio Ranchino to his daughters Giulia and Rosa, a delicate oil with a green colour and light golden reflections. The bouquet is ample and elegant with fresh herbaceous notes from freshly cut grass to wild mixed leaf salad, while in the finish hints of aromatic herbs emerge in which rosemary dominates. The taste is harmonious where bitterness and pungency are pleasantly powerful, with distinct notes of chicory in the background.
