A noble oil comes from a noble oil mill, namely from the ancient Masseria del Principe Francesco Colonna: Marina Colonna - heir of Prince Francesco Colonna - PDO Molise extra virgin olive oil. The oil is the result of the union of Leccino and Gentile di Larino varieties, cultivated in the Bosco Pontoni farm, in the land that the Colonna family has been farming for almost two centuries. This product excites us for its close ties with the territory, a reason that justifies the PDO certification obtained: endowed with a light, unripe and herbaceous aromatic texture, the PDO Molise tells us about a landscape endowed with great biodiversity, rural yet with peaks of delicacy, in the role of witness of the great Italian oil tradition.
Tasting Notes
Marina Colonna's Molise oil is limpid, with a beautifully intense golden yellow color with light green tones. Its aroma is elegant and enveloping, rich in hints of artichoke and wild chicory, accompanied by aromatic tones of mint and rosemary. The mouthfeel is bold and ample, with notes of wild lettuce and a hint of almond in the aftertaste. Strong bitterness, and spiciness present and well harmonized.
