The Monti Iblei area is a limestone area in the provinces of Siracusa, Ragusa and Catania. A territory endowed with plateaus furrowed and dug by the water that has created wide carvings, the "Cave”. The PDO Monti Iblei PDO production area, with the “Frigintini” Geographical indication, includes the area around Ragusa, Modica and Rosolini. This is where Frantoio Galioto's Monti Iblei Frigintini extra virgin olive oil comes from: a product which, for four generations, has been giving us the emotions of one of Sicily's most prized olives, the Moresca, together with the Tonda Iblea.
Tasting Notes
Monti Iblei Frigintini oil is limpid, with an intense golden yellow color and delicate green reflections. The nose is elegant and enveloping, full of balsamic notes of basil, mint and parsley, alongside fruity hints of medium ripe tomato, white apple and banana. The mouthfeel is ample and fine, with tones of lettuce, fresh broad beans and celery. Bitterness and pungency are present and harmonious, with a fresh nutty aftertaste.
