The Galantino family has built its own company in the heart of Apulia, in the area of Bisceglie. A land rich in history, culture and tradition that can be tasted throughout the landscape among trulli, churches, castles and expanses of olive trees. The leap in productivity for Frantoio Galantino came in the 1960s, when they purchased an estate of 47 hectares of olive trees from which they now produce the best extra virgin olive oils. Today, Frantoio Galantino continues to be led by Gianvito Galantino, who continues the affirmation of the family business on the international market, but above all, he increasingly affirms the excellence of his products on the national market.
Tasting Notes
Frantoio Galantino's Gran Cru Affiorato extra virgin olive oil is part of a line of excellent extra virgin olive oils produced in limited quantities by the Galantino family's estates. This oil fascinates us because it is obtained using the "affioramento" method, that is, the hand harvesting of a very small percentage of oil (2-3%) that forms on the olive inner before pressing. Frantoio Galantino Gran Cru Affiorato has a golden yellow color with green reflections; the nose is a fresh and herbaceous, with floral, tomato leaves and almond notes. The flavor is delicately fruity with barely perceptible spicy and bitter notes.
