Ramerino is located on the hills south of Florence, in an area that has been producing extra virgin olive oil for centuries. This is where Fattoria Ramerino's Guadagnòlo Primus extra virgin olive oil comes from, a product whose name speaks of an important tradition: it was the custom in Tuscany to use an ancient container for milling tools. The oil dripping from them was collected on the bottom of the container, and then recovered as “gain” (guadagno in Italian) to be divided between the millers. Of this "primus" blend - because it is the flagship product that best represents the production - we love the medium intense fruitiness that emphasizes an important philosophy: the importance of giving value to even the smallest drops of this green gold.
Tasting Notes
Ramerino’s Guadagnòlo Primus extra virgin olive oil is limpid, with beautifully intense golden yellow color and greenish reflections; its aroma is complex and vegetable, rich in hints of freshly mown grass, artichoke and chicory. The mouthfeel is full and strong, with tones of aromatic herbs, prominent hints of mint and rosemary, and notes of black pepper and almond. Bitterness and spiciness are present and well dosed.
