Fattoria Ramerino is located on the hills south of Florence, in an area that has been producing extra virgin olive oil for centuries. This is where Fattoria Ramerino's Guadagnòlo Dulcis extra virgin olive oil comes from, a product whose name speaks of an important tradition: it was the custom in Tuscany to use an ancient container for milling tools. The oil dripping from them was collected on the bottom of the container, and then recovered as “gain” (guadagno in Italian) to be divided between the millers. Fattoria Ramerino's Guadagnòlo Dulcis extra virgin olive oil is a more delicate version of its brother "Primus": we like this oil because it has a sweeter balance of bitterness and spiciness, making it ideal for delicate dishes or for those who do not like full-bodied fruity oils.
Tasting Notes
Ramerino’s Guadagnòlo Dulcis oil is limpid, with intense golden yellow color with greenish nuances. The nose is ample and enveloping, rich in scents of artichoke, lettuce and chicory, together with clear balsamic notes of mint and rosemary. Full and complex on the palate, it has tones of sage and distinct hints of black pepper, cinnamon and almond. Powerful bitterness and strong spiciness.
