Frescobaldi Laudemio

Frescobaldi
Our history

The history of the Frescobaldi family begins over a thousand years ago, and is inherently linked to the history of Tuscany.At the peak of medieval Florence, the Frescobaldi family exerted its influence as bankers, earning the title of treasurers of the English crown.A little later, with the flourishing of the Renaissance, the Marquises de' Frescobaldi became patrons of important works in Florence, such as the construction of the Santa Trinita bridge and the basilica of Santo Spirito. In the Middle Ages the laudemio was the flower of the harvest, the part destined for the lord's table;

Creativity and the search for excellence have been handed down through the centuries in all the generations of the family.
In 1300, during Dante Alighieri's exile, his friend and poet Dino Frescobaldi gave him back the first seven cantos of the Divine Comedy, allowing him to complete his work.In 1700, the baroque compositions of the famous musician Girolamo Frescobaldi spread throughout Europe. With great openness towards the future, in 1855 the family's ancestors introduced some grape varieties to Tuscany that were then unknown, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

The 20th century was characterized by the work of Vittorio, Ferdinando and Leonardo Frescobaldi, who made an important contribution to elevating Tuscany to the status of a place of excellence in viticulture and olive growing.
Today, Lamberto Frescobaldi has taken over the baton and, on the strength of his may years of technical experience, aims to further strengthen the uniqueness of the wines of each of the family's estates;

The Laudemio di Frescobaldi oil project was born in the mid-1980s, when a group of far-sighted farmers, keepers of some of the noblest cru olive groves in the region, signed a pioneering pact for production excellence, well ahead of national and European legislation. A pact, today as then, based on strict rules and strict quality control;

History, tradition, genuineness and respect for the territory and the environment are the principles that guide the entire production process of Laudemio Frescobaldi, from the harmonious management of olive groves to selective fruit harvesting at its perfect level of ripeness, from pressing to kneading and the strictly cold extraction, up to bottling and careful preservation of the product.

Today the Laudemio oil brand is the ambassador of the great Tuscan art of oil and of its masterpieces, on the tables of connoisseurs worldwide;
