Bonomelli
Our history

Paolo Bonomelli has been producing extra virgin olive oil since 1990. He does this on his farm in the hills of Torri del Benaco, an estate he considers a true boutique farm. Its olives grow in one of the most beautiful corners of Italy: on land along the eastern shore of Lake Garda.

The Bonomelli family estate is located in what is known as the "Riviera degli Ulivi", an area with unique characteristics that make it possible to produce extra virgin olive oil of the highest quality. The olive groves extend for about 12 hectares and allow an average annual production of 12,000 litres of oil. Olives are processed in a two-phase continuous cycle plant, and, during processing, the temperature never exceeds 25 degrees Celsius, to maintain the quality of the olives unaltered.

Olives are harvested and selected by hand, and are sent to the mill for pressing within four hours of picking. This way, the extra virgin oil maintains the full and intense taste of freshly pressed olives for a long time. Keeping faith with the philosophy enclosed in the motto "from field to bottle", the entire production process – from harvest to preservation of the finished product – is monitored with great attention by Paolo Bonomelli and his family.

Most of the production of the Bonomelli family is formed by native cultivars: Drizzàr, also known as Casaliva, Trep and Fort. The Casaliva variety is the protagonist of the Drizzar extra virgin olive oil, a monovarietal product obtained from olives harvested during the second half of October. Another excellent oil is Garda DOP, an extra virgin blend obtained from Casaliva, Leccino and Pendolino olives. The best fruits of the Trep and Fort varieties are selected to create the TreFórt line, a limited edition oil available only at the Bonomelli family's estate in Torri del Benaco, in the province of Verona.
