The flagship of this mill comes from the name of the founder, Sabino Leone’s Terra di Bari "Don Gioacchino" Gran Cru extra virgin olive oil. Just like its father Gioacchino, this oil is characterized by a strong and austere temperament, an aristocratic, measured and virile spirit, very elegant with an authoritative fruitiness of green olive, green almond, olive leaf. This oil fascinates us for the disruptive force with which it presents the particular characteristics of the Coratina, the region's queen cultivar: an intense yet balanced taste, with elegantly balanced bitter and spicy peaks.
Tasting Notes
Terra di Bari "Don Gioacchino" Grand Cru is limpid, with a beautiful intense golden yellow color. The nose is fine and enveloping, full of balsamic hints of mint and rosemary, with a clear hint of artichoke and chicory. Elegant and complex on the palate, it tastes of lettuce and closes with rich notes of almond, black pepper and cinnamon. Powerful bitterness and strong, harmonious spiciness.
