Marfuga's PDO Umbria extra virgin olive oil comes from the very heart of our peninsula. Umbria is indeed one of the regions with the oldest olive cultivation traditions in Italy, thanks to the influence of the Etruscans. The Marfuga farm has a history of olive cultivation that goes back hundreds of years. The great-grandfather Domenico, sold demijohns of oil produced from his olive groves already in the early ‘900. It was Ettore who later bought new olive groves and built the new oil mill, starting to develop the company, which already achieved success in the 1990s when his son Francesco created the Marfuga brand. The PDO Umbria extra virgin olive oil, cultivated on the hills between Assisi and Spoleto, is cold extracted from olives picked by hand. It comes from a blend of the Company's three main cultivars: Moraiolo, Leccino and Frantoio.
