The Felsina Correggiolo extra virgin olive oil is born where Chianti ends and the Sienese countryside begins: we are in Castelnuovo Berardenga, in one of the southernmost municipalities of the Chianti Classico area. Felsina is a real farm, whose most important agricultural activity - apart from winemaking - is the production of olive oil. Raggiolo is an ancient Tuscan cultivar, among the most widespread, which, with aromas of field grass and almost spicy notes, accompanied by bitter artichoke and spicy arugula, is perfect to enhance traditional dishes. What we like about this oil is its great olfactory strength and taste, with the flavor of the green Tuscan hills.
Tasting Notes
Felsina Correggiolo oil from pitted olives is limpid, with an intense golden yellow color with greenish nuances. Its aroma is definite and enveloping, rich in scents of rosemary and mint, followed by notes of artichoke, chicory and lettuce. The mouthfeel is elegant and full of character, with tones of sage and a distinct hint of almond and cinnamon. Powerful bitterness and strong, well harmonized pungency.
