The Frantoio Batta was founded in 1923 on the San Girolamo road, in Perugia. In this corner of Umbria, Giovanni Batta, grandfather of the current owner, created this small family business, which has been focused on olive growing ever since. The oil currently produced by Giovanni and his wife Giuliana, is one of the best known and most appreciated in all of Umbria. Frantoio Batta's organic extra virgin olive oil is a blend resulting in a flavor of lettuce and almond, with balanced sweetness and bitterness. What we like is the proud tone with which this organic oil speaks of its land, in the deepest heart of the Peninsula.
Tasting Notes
Batta organic oil is limpid, with an intense golden yellow color with green tones; the nose is ample and fine, with rich vegetable scents of artichoke, chicory and field thistle, together with balsamic notes of rosemary and mint. The mouthfeel is elegant and prominent, with tones of lettuce, black pepper and a distinct almond finish. Powerful bitterness and strong spiciness.
