Frantoio Muraglia

Frantoio Muraglia today is led by the fifth generation of the Muraglia family and is located in Andria, the oil capital of Puglia. Among the 60 hectares of olive trees of different varieties and generations, is the family's progenitor, namely a majestic Coratina olive tree that is 460 years old.

Frantoio Muraglia was born when Savino Muraglia senior decided to buy this very olive tree in order to cultivate it and produce oil from its olives; despite everyone telling him that he would not make a fortune with that kind of business, he didn't listen to anyone and continued on his way thanks to his stubbornness. In Apulia, stubborn people are called "Capatosta".

Savino was not content with just producing the olives. He wanted to make his own oil, and in the way he wanted it. So, he decided to build his own oil mill, to mill the olives within a few hours of harvesting, preventing them from losing their aromatic and phenolic components.
Today, the fifth generation of "Capatosta" is led by Savino Muraglia junior, who carries on the tradition and passion handed down by his grandfather. Thanks to this love for oil and his land since an early age, today Savino has invested in the young people in the company to make the excellence of Apulian oil known around the world to the point of exporting its products to 54 countries around the world.
