In Tuscany, it is easy to come across a Fettunta: the typical local snack, with bread and raw oil. Fattoria Ramerino is well aware of this custom, enhancing, in production, the cultivar that Tuscans traditionally use for this snack. Ramerino’s Frantoio extra virgin olive oil comes from the Frantoio variety: an example of excellence of this popular traditional Tuscan cultivar, this oil excites us with the strength of its bitter and spicy character, qualities which show the Tuscan spirit, made by hands that work, love and take care of their land.

Tasting Notes

Ramerino’s Frantoio oil is limpid, with an intense golden yellow color and greenish reflections. The nose is ample and strong, rich in scents of artichoke, chicory and lettuce, accompanied by notes of mint and rosemary. The mouthfeel is fine and complex, with spicy tones of black pepper and cinnamon. Bitterness and pungency are distinct and balanced.

It is perfect for lentil appetizers, barbecued porcini mushrooms, tuna salads, grilled radicchio, artichoke purée, pasta dishes with meat sauce, blue fish au gratin, roast lamb, roast game, hard mature cheeses.
