Frantoio Gaudenzi's cute gift box in decorated cardboard contains 3 x 500 ML bottles of three different PDO Umbria extra virgin olive oil, from three different sub-areas representative of the mill oil production.
It contains 1 x bottle of Casalontana extra virgin olive, whose name derives from the historic olive grove of the Gaudenzi mill. The so called Assisi - Spoleto area is characterized by high temperature ranges, steep slopes and rocky soils that do not retain water. Conditions are prohibitive for most of the varieties, but not for the Moraiolo, which here finds the ideal terrain to express its best qualities. Type of oil: Moraiolo, Frantoio and Leccino are the three varieties that make up the oil, but in this case it is a field olive crop. Intense fruitiness with marked hints of artichoke and almond accompanied by herbaceous notes. The mouthfeel is strong, with a well pronounced bitterness and pungency and fresh balsamic notes of mint on the finish.
1 x 500 ML bottle of Seven extra virgin olive oil, one of Frantoio Gaudenzi’s newest products, a blend of the main varieties from olive groves around Lake Trasimeno: Dolce Agogia, Leccino and Frantoio. Different climate, different terrain, same respect for the fruit for an oil certified as PDO Umbria-Colli del Trasimeno. What kind of oil is it? Lightly fruity with notes of green apple, white fruit, green tomato and fresh herbaceous sensations. Soft in the mouth with slight spicy notes on the finish.
Lastly, 1 x 500 ML bottle of 89/93 extra virgin olive oil, another novelty, with numbers as protagonists. 89/93 is the birth year of Stefano and Andrea. The oil is a blend of San Felice with a small part of Moraiolo. Our third certification: PDO Umbria-Colli Martani. What kind of oil is it? Medium fruity with vegetable notes of chicory and artichoke accompanied by hints of black pepper, sage and rosemary. On the palate, bitterness and spiciness are well balanced, with medium intensity.
