Mieli Thun rhododendron honey is one of the rarest and most prized of all, as it is produced in the high mountains whose plants grow in unspoilt territory at altitudes of up to over 1,200 metres. Rhododendron is one of the best known typical plants of our mountains, and flowers in the period between June and July. It is characterised by a unique and unmistakable fragrance. Once the nectar is produced, hints of white flowers and snow, of alpine herbs and watermelon rind with hints of thyme serpyllum are discernible on the nose. In the mouth, an intense, rounded sweetness prevails, with a much appreciated virgin wax finish on the palate.
