Anfosso

The Anfosso brothers are an excellent example to follow for understanding how important the culture of oil is in western Liguria. The Anfosso family estate and production plant are located in Chiusavecchia, in the province of Imperia. Here, Alessandro and Alfredo have decided to continue the family business started decades earlier, by enriching it with new ideas. Instead of limiting themselves to producing extra virgin olive oil, they have created many different products that revolve around oil: from extra virgin olive oil to preserves, pesto, creams, sauces and olives in brine.

The history of the Olio Anfosso brand has distant origins and is closely linked to the history of the family: it was in 1945 that the Anfosso family began to transform the olives from their estate into a high quality extra virgin olive oil. Since then, the continuous search for excellence, respect for tradition and love for oil have been going hand in hand.

The current production plant is a modern cold-processing, continuous-cycle plant. The Anfosso brothers have two flagship products: the PDO Riviera Ligure-Riviera dei Fiori extra virgin olive oil, obtained from local Taggiasca olives, and the monocultivar Taggiasca TUMAÌ extra virgin olive oil.

The versatility of Ligurian oil can also be appreciated in numerous preserves and preparations, some of which are the result of a modern reinterpretation of typical regional recipes, and others are the expression of the owners' desire to experiment. The first category includes whole, pitted or pickled Taggiasca olives and olive paste. The Anfosso oil is also used to enrich different kinds of pesto, sauces, tomato-based sauces, jars of tuna and anchovies and a flavored oil line. With their enveloping and soft taste, the Anfosso extra virgin olive oils and other gourmet specialties are perfect all day long.
