Il Borgo del Balsamico is a special place. By crossing its gates, you will find yourself in a unique and magic atmosphere, filled with history and traditions. This is a rather young vinegar factory, which started selling its Balsamic vinegar only in the 1990s.

The company was founded by Cecilia and Silvia Crotti, the heirs of a family active in the fashion business; their father passed down his passion for local food and wine products to his daughters, as he took care of a small Balsamic Vinegar barrel set, in his free time.

After inheriting this passion, the Crotti sisters decided to undertake this adventure in the world of Balsamic Vinegar, in the family estate, by purchasing several century-old barrels from different families. Il Borgo del Balsamico is an enterprise surrounded by history and tradition, with an eye to innovation and design. Their past in the fashion industry led them to invest in their packaging, which they believe to be an essential element to give the right value to this product, and convey its preciousness.

And colour was another element they leveraged on, to help consumers understand how different balsamic vinegars with varying ageing times differ, in an easy and direct way. And this is surely one of the most distinctive traits of this company. Il Borgo del Balsamico boasts two excellent products among its ranks - the PDO Traditional Reggio Emilia Balsamic Vinegar, and the PGI Modena Balsamic Vinegar, whose denomination expands also to the Reggio Emilia province.
