Oro del Desierto

Oro del Desierto is a family-run business founded by Rafael Alonso Aguilera, a well-known entrepreneur who, after a long experience in the accommodation sector, in 1996, took over the entire family farm managing to fulfil the dream of producing extra virgin olive oil under his own management and marketing it worldwide.

The company is located in the Desert of Tabernas, in Spain, in a 1900s mill, whose vast territory is kissed by about 3000 hours of sunshine a year, without sudden changes in temperature that allows a favourable condition for the growth of organic olive groves. Today, the family owns about 25,000 organically farmed olive groves of different varieties, every day is committed to respecting the land, the environment by applying sustainability criteria ensuring the highest levels of quality and uses poor drip irrigation, organic fertilizers and natural products.

A family that shows love and passion for their work since the first olive processing, are selected in the traditional way by hand or mechanically depending on the degree of ripeness and immediately transferred to the mill equipped with cutting-edge technologies.
