The charming Angevin village of Colletorto, in the province of Campobasso, is home to Giorgio Tamaro’s olive groves, a producer of strictly native single-variety oils. Continuing in the tradition of their ancestors, Giorgio and his children give life to an oil that speaks of ancient ties: from the only Rumignana producer in the world, comes Tamaro’s Rumignana extra virgin olive oil. A product we like, because it is able to bring to light the scents and flavors of this cultivar, once supplied to a select few for its particular bitter and spicy taste.
Tasting Notes
Tamaro's Rumignana extra virgin olive oil is an intense golden yellow color with green veins. Its aroma is definite and rotund, rich in vegetable hints of artichoke and chicory, together with distinct notes of black pepper, while its mouthfeel is ample and full of character, with tones of lettuce, wild thistle and balsamic herbs with clear hints of mint, rosemary and sage. Powerful bitterness and strong spiciness.
