Since 1853 the Benza family has been passionately cultivating their olive trees in the province of Imperia. Thanks to the modern oil mill located in Dolcedo along the Ligurian Riviera, they transform the Taggiasca variety olives into a delicate, high quality oil. "Primuruggio" is an ancient dialect expression from the valleys of Liguria which translates into "Primo fiotto", this oil is in fact obtained from the natural pressing of olive paste. It is a rare oil because it is the one that emerges spontaneously from the olive paste and for 100 kg of olives you get only 9 kilos of oil.
Tasting notes
"Primuriggiu" is a fresh fruity extra virgin olive oil with notes of pine, white fruit and sweet almond. The taste is slightly bitter and spicy, with floral notes of a ripe olive, sweet and creamy.
